Platform Guidelines - Content and Community Standards

Section 1: Our Commitment

Pageraise exists to make fundraising accessible to everyone — to empower individuals, families, teams, and organizations to raise money for the causes and projects that matter most to them. We are committed to maintaining a platform that is honest, safe, inclusive, and built on trust between Creators and Contributors.

These Platform Guidelines ("Guidelines") define the standards of conduct and content that apply to every person who uses Pageraise, including Creators who establish fundraise pages and Contributors who make contributions. The Guidelines apply to all user-generated content on the Platform, including fundraise page titles, descriptions, cover images, profile information, donor messages, and any other content submitted through the Platform.

We enforce these Guidelines consistently and without regard to the viewpoint, identity, notoriety, or follower count of the person posting. We evaluate content based on what it depicts, promotes, or facilitates — not who created it. Context matters in our enforcement decisions, and we will consider the full picture before taking action.

These Guidelines are incorporated into and subject to the Pageraise Terms of Use. Violation of these Guidelines may result in enforcement action up to and including permanent termination of your account and all pending payouts.

Section 2: Fundraise Integrity and Honesty

The foundation of Pageraise is trust. Contributors make financial decisions based on the information Creators provide. Every Creator bears a legal and moral obligation to represent their fundraise accurately and to use contributed funds for the purpose stated.

Creators must:

Provide an accurate, truthful, and complete description of who they are, what the funds are for, and how the funds will be used.
Promptly update their fundraise page if material facts change after publication.
Use all contributions for the purpose described on their fundraise page.
Accurately represent the identity of the individual or organization benefiting from the fundraise.

The following are strictly prohibited:

Creating a fundraise campaign based on false, deceptive, or materially misleading information.
Misrepresenting who will receive or benefit from the funds raised.
Using funds raised for a purpose materially different from what was stated without disclosure to Contributors.
Impersonating another individual, organization, charity, or public figure in a fundraise campaign or Creator profile.
Fabricating endorsements, partnerships, affiliations, or charitable status.
Creating a fundraise page for a cause or project that does not exist or that the Creator does not control.

Pageraise investigates reports of fundraise misrepresentation seriously. Confirmed fraud or misrepresentation will result in immediate account termination, reversal or withholding of payouts, and referral to appropriate law enforcement authorities. Creators found to have misappropriated funds are liable for full restitution to affected Contributors.

Section 3: Child Safety

Pageraise maintains an absolute zero-tolerance policy for any content that sexually exploits, endangers, or harms minors.

The following are strictly and permanently prohibited:

Any visual, written, audio, or digital depiction of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, whether real, simulated, computer-generated, drawn, or digitally manipulated (child sexual abuse material, "CSAM").
Content that grooms, solicits, or sexualizes minors in any form.
Fundraising for activities that exploit, endanger, or harm children.
Any attempt by an adult to establish inappropriate contact with a minor through the Platform.

All discovered CSAM will be immediately removed, reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 2258A, and referred to law enforcement. Accounts involved in such conduct will be permanently banned without appeal, and all available identifying information will be provided to authorities.

Users must be at least thirteen (13) years of age to use the Platform and at least eighteen (18) years of age to use financial features. Creators must not raise funds for activities involving minors without appropriate parental or guardian authorization.

Section 4: Violent and Threatening Content

Pageraise prohibits content that promotes, glorifies, celebrates, solicits, or incites real-world violence against any person or group. Specifically prohibited:

Content that explicitly or implicitly threatens violence against a specific person or group.
Fundraising to support, finance, or facilitate acts of violence, terrorism, or armed conflict against civilians.
Content that glorifies or celebrates mass violence, genocide, or atrocities.
Sharing graphic imagery of real-world violence in a manner that celebrates or dehumanizes victims.

We recognize that discussion, reporting, documentation, and artistic exploration of violence — particularly in educational, journalistic, historical, documentary, or counter-extremism contexts — serves legitimate purposes. We will consider context and purpose before taking enforcement action in these cases.

Section 5: Hate Speech and Discrimination

Pageraise prohibits content that attacks, dehumanizes, or calls for discrimination against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics, including but not limited to: race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability status, age, or immigration status.

Prohibited:

Content that dehumanizes individuals or groups based on protected characteristics.
Fundraising for organizations or activities whose primary purpose is the promotion of hatred, white supremacy, neo-Nazism, or other ideologies that advocate the inferiority of protected groups.
Use of slurs to attack or demean individuals or groups.
Fundraising for activities that constitute or promote unlawful discrimination.

Discussion, academic analysis, counter-speech, journalism, and artistic commentary regarding hateful ideologies are generally permitted where the context demonstrates opposition to or examination of such ideologies rather than promotion of them.

Section 6: Harassment and Targeted Abuse

Pageraise does not permit the Platform to be used as a vehicle for harassing, intimidating, or targeting individuals. Prohibited conduct includes:

Fundraising campaigns whose stated or apparent purpose is to harass, defame, intimidate, or cause reputational harm to a specific individual.
Coordinated harassment of individuals through campaigns, messages, or fundraise pages.
Publishing or threatening to publish private personal information about an individual without their consent (doxing).
Creating fundraise pages that solicit contributions in exchange for targeting or harming a specific person.
Sexualized harassment directed at individuals through fundraise content or messaging.

Criticism, parody, satire, and commentary regarding public figures and matters of public concern are generally protected. We distinguish between speech directed at conduct, policies, and public actions, and speech that constitutes targeted personal abuse.

Section 7: Privacy Violations and Non-Consensual Content

Pageraise respects individuals' rights to privacy and personal dignity. The following are prohibited:

Publishing private personal information about any individual without their express consent, including home addresses, financial account numbers, private contact information, or precise location data.
Non-consensual intimate imagery: distributing, threatening to distribute, or soliciting sexual images or videos depicting any real person without that person's express and verifiable consent, including AI-generated or digitally manipulated ("deepfake") intimate imagery.
Fundraising for activities that involve the unauthorized collection, distribution, or exploitation of private information.
Using another individual's likeness, image, or identity for commercial fundraising purposes without their consent.

Violations of this Section involving non-consensual intimate imagery are treated as severe violations subject to immediate removal and permanent account termination.

Section 8: Misinformation and Inauthentic Behavior

Trust in the accuracy of fundraise information is essential to the Platform. Pageraise prohibits:

Fundraising based on verifiably false information that is likely to cause real-world harm, including health misinformation that contradicts established scientific or medical consensus, crisis misinformation, or false emergency appeals.
Voter suppression content or content designed to discourage lawful civic participation.
False attributions of statements, endorsements, or support to real people or organizations.
Coordinated inauthentic behavior, including operating multiple fake accounts, using unauthorized bots to artificially inflate fundraise metrics, or creating fictitious donor activity.
Purchasing, selling, or artificially inflating contribution counts, follower counts, or fundraise engagement metrics.
Astroturfing campaigns that disguise the coordinated origin or artificial nature of support for a fundraise.

Satire, parody, clearly labeled opinion, and legitimate advocacy remain protected. We evaluate context and labeling when assessing misinformation reports.

Section 9: Prohibited Fundraise Categories

Regardless of how a fundraise is described, Pageraise will not permit fundraising that is designed or used to facilitate the following:

Illegal activity: fundraising for activities that violate applicable law in any jurisdiction, including the purchase, distribution, or trafficking of controlled substances, illegal weapons, counterfeit goods, or stolen property.
Weapons and dangerous materials: fundraising for illegal weapons, explosives, biological or chemical weapons, or other instruments of mass harm.
Human trafficking and exploitation: fundraising that facilitates human smuggling, labor exploitation, sexual exploitation, or any form of modern slavery.
Gambling and prohibited financial schemes: fundraising for gambling operations, lottery schemes, pyramid schemes, Ponzi schemes, or other prohibited financial structures.
Animal cruelty: fundraising for activities involving the abuse, torture, illegal fighting, or exploitation of animals.
Terrorism and violent extremism: fundraising for designated terrorist organizations, violent extremist groups, or activities that constitute or support terrorism.
Cybercrime and hacking: fundraising for unauthorized access to computer systems, malware development, or other cybercriminal activity.
Environmental crimes: fundraising for activities that deliberately and unlawfully cause significant environmental harm.

Section 10: Self-Harm and Crisis Content

Pageraise cares about the wellbeing of every person who uses our Platform. We prohibit content that promotes, glorifies, provides detailed instruction for, or solicits contributions in support of self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders.

We recognize that fundraising for mental health treatment, crisis support organizations, suicide prevention initiatives, and awareness campaigns serves vital purposes. Fundraise pages that address these topics in a supportive, awareness-raising, or recovery-oriented context are permitted and encouraged.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, please contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988 (in the United States), or contact your local emergency services.

Section 11: Sexual Content

By default, Pageraise does not permit explicit sexual content on the Platform. Specifically prohibited:

Explicit sexual imagery or video depicting real persons without their verified consent.
Sexual content involving minors of any kind (see Section 3).
Non-consensual sexualization of any individual.
Fundraising for escort services, solicitation of sexual services, or sex trafficking.
Unsolicited sexual content directed at other users.

Nudity presented in legitimate artistic, educational, medical, documentary, or cultural contexts is generally permitted where it serves a clearly non-exploitative purpose.

Section 12: Intellectual Property and Authenticity

Pageraise requires that all content on the Platform respect third-party rights:

Do not post fundraise content that infringes the copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual property rights of any third party.
Do not impersonate another individual, charity, business, or organization in a fundraise page or Creator profile in a manner that misleads or deceives Contributors or the public. Parody and fan pages are permitted where they are clearly and prominently labeled as such.
Do not create fraudulent fundraises in the name of or purporting to benefit real charities or nonprofit organizations without proper authorization from those organizations.
Do not engage in spam behavior, including mass-posting promotional fundraise links, aggressive unsolicited outreach, or using the Platform's features to artificially amplify fundraise visibility.

Section 13: Enforcement

Pageraise uses a tiered enforcement approach that considers the severity of the violation, the User's history on the Platform, the presence of intent, and the totality of the context.

Enforcement actions include, in escalating order:

Content removal: removal of a specific fundraise page, image, or other content that violates these Guidelines.
Warning: formal notice that a violation has been identified, with a record maintained in the User's account history.
Temporary suspension: suspension of access to the Platform for a defined period, ranging from twenty-four (24) hours to ninety (90) days, depending on severity and history.
Payout hold: withholding of pending payouts pending investigation of suspected fraud, misrepresentation, or chargebacks.
Permanent termination: permanent and irrevocable termination of the User's account, all associated accounts, and forfeiture of pending payouts in cases of serious violations.

The following violations result in immediate permanent termination without warning or appeal:

Distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
Non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII) distribution.
Human trafficking facilitation.
Confirmed terrorism financing.
Credible threats of mass violence.
Fundraise fraud involving misappropriation of contribution funds.
Ban evasion through creation of new accounts following permanent termination.

Section 14: Reporting

Users may report suspected violations of these Guidelines through the in-platform reporting tools available on fundraise pages and profiles. We review all reports submitted in good faith.

Submitting false, malicious, or bad-faith reports designed to target other Users or cause unwarranted enforcement action is itself a violation of these Guidelines and may result in enforcement action against the reporting User.

For urgent safety concerns — including imminent threats of violence, CSAM, or trafficking — please contact us immediately at hello@pageraise.com with "URGENT" in the subject line. We prioritize these reports for immediate review.

Section 15: Appeals

If you believe that enforcement action was taken against your account or content in error, you may submit an appeal within thirty (30) days of the enforcement action by contacting us at hello@pageraise.com with:

your account username and email address;
a description of the enforcement action taken;
your explanation of why you believe the action was taken in error; and
any supporting evidence or context you wish us to consider.

We will respond to appeals within fourteen (14) business days. Our decision on appeal is final. Appeals are not available for permanent terminations resulting from CSAM, non-consensual intimate imagery, credible mass violence threats, terrorism financing, or confirmed fundraise fraud.

Section 16: Platform Research and Journalism

Researchers, academics, and journalists who wish to study the Platform for legitimate public interest purposes are encouraged to contact us at hello@pageraise.com before conducting any Platform research. Unauthorized scraping, automated data collection without prior written permission, vulnerability research without a coordinated disclosure agreement, and creation of fake accounts for research purposes remain strictly prohibited, regardless of intent.

Section 17: Updates to These Guidelines

Pageraise reserves the right to revise these Guidelines at any time. We will provide reasonable advance notice of material changes by posting a notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any revisions constitutes your acceptance of the revised Guidelines.
