How to set up or cancel a monthly donation

A monthly donation charges you the same amount once a month to support a fundraise you care about. You set one up by choosing Monthly on a fundraise page while signed in, and you can cancel a monthly donation or update your card any time from My Donations.

Monthly giving is one of the kindest ways to help, because creators can count on it. Here's everything you need to know.

How to set up a monthly donation

1. Sign in to your Pageraise account. Monthly donations require an account, so if you choose Monthly while signed out, you'll be asked to create an account or sign in, and then we'll bring you right back to the fundraise.
2. Open the fundraise you want to support.
3. Choose Monthly instead of One-time.
4. Enter your amount and choose an optional tip for Pageraise.
5. Add a message or choose to appear as Anonymous if you'd like.
6. Pay. Your first monthly donation is made, and it repeats each month after that.

How tips work on monthly donations

If you add a tip for Pageraise, it repeats each month along with your donation. If you'd rather not tip, set the slider to 0 before you pay. Tips never come out of the creator's money. You can read more in fees and tips.

• Update the card used for a monthly donation

How to update your card

If your card expired or you want to use a different one, go to My Donations, find the monthly donation, and update the card. Keeping your card current helps avoid a failed charge.

How to cancel a monthly donation

1. Sign in and go to My Donations.
2. Find the monthly donation you want to stop.
3. Cancel it.

Canceling stops future charges. Your donation stays active until the end of the month you've already paid for, and then it ends. There are no partial refunds for the current month.

Life changes, and it's completely okay to cancel. Every month you gave made a difference.

Monthly donations and the embed widget

Some creators add a Pageraise donate button to their own website. That embedded widget supports one-time donations only. To give monthly, open the fundraise page on Pageraise itself.

What if the fundraise is deleted?

A creator can't delete a fundraise while it still has active monthly donors. That rule exists so nobody keeps getting charged for a page that no longer exists.

If a monthly payment fails

Payments can fail for reasons like an expired card, insufficient funds, or a bank decline. A failed payment is never charged. If your card has expired or changed, updating it in My Donations is the place to start. See why a payment fails for more.
