Pageraise charges no platform fee. The only cost taken from a donation is Stripe's processing fee, about 2.9% plus $0.30, and donors can choose to add an optional tip for Pageraise that never comes out of the creator's money.

We know fees on fundraising sites can be confusing, so here's the whole picture in plain words.

Pageraise platform fee: none

We don't take a cut of what you raise. Not a percentage, not a flat fee. Pageraise is supported by optional tips that donors may add at checkout, and that's it.

Stripe's processing fee

Every donation is processed by Stripe, the payment company that moves money from donors to creators. Stripe charges a processing fee of about 2.9% plus $0.30 per donation. That fee is paid from the donation, so you receive the donation minus Stripe's fee.

For example, on a $50 donation with no tip, Stripe's fee would be roughly $1.45 plus $0.30, about $1.75, and you'd receive about $48.25. Stripe calculates its fee on the full amount charged, and the exact amount can differ a little by card, which is why we show you the real number.

Where to see the exact fee

Open Contributions in your dashboard. Each donation you've received shows the exact fee Stripe charged on it, not an estimate. That way there are no surprises when you compare donations to your payouts.

How tips work

At checkout, donors see a slider where they can add an optional tip for Pageraise. It goes from 0% to 50% in 5% steps. It starts at 10%, and donors can slide it all the way to 0 if they'd rather not tip.

A few things worth knowing:

  • Tips are completely optional.
  • Tips never come out of the creator's money. A tip is added on top of the donation.
  • For monthly donations, the tip (if any) repeats each month along with the donation. See monthly donations.

Tips are how we keep the lights on without charging creators a platform fee, so we're genuinely grateful to everyone who adds one. And if you set it to 0, that's completely fine too.

How much a creator keeps

Putting it together, a creator receives:

  • Every successful donation, even if they never reach their goal
  • Minus Stripe's processing fee on that donation
  • With no Pageraise platform fee taken out

Tips go to Pageraise and are separate from the donation, so they don't change what the creator receives.

Fees and refunds

Refunds are handled by the Pageraise team case by case. When a donation is refunded, Stripe does not return its processing fee. You can learn more in our refunds guide.

Are donations tax-deductible?

Contributions on Pageraise are not tax-deductible unless a creator has their own verified charitable status. Pageraise itself is not a charity.

Common questions

Does Pageraise take a percentage of donations?

No. Pageraise charges no platform fee. The only deduction is Stripe's processing fee of about 2.9% plus $0.30 per donation.

Do donors have to leave a tip?

No. The tip is optional. The slider starts at 10%, and donors can set it to 0 before paying.

Does the tip come out of the creator's donation?

Never. A tip is added on top of the donation and goes to Pageraise. The creator's amount isn't touched.

Why did I receive less than the donation amount?

Stripe's processing fee is paid from each donation. You can see the exact fee on every donation in your Contributions page.

Is the Stripe fee refunded if a donation is refunded?

No. On a refund, Stripe does not return its processing fee.
